Barnes Farm Infant School

Building Futures, Inspiring Success

School Organisation

Barnes Farm Infant School is a school for 4 -7 year old children in Chelmsford, Essex. We have a wonderful team of staff, active and informed governors and supportive families who all help the children to be safe and happy and to make exceptional progress. It is our aim to make sure that all members of our school community are supported and feel included and valued.

The children are divided into classes according to age. Children will progress through the National Curriculum on an individual basis with appropriate individual educational plans being provided for children with special educational needs and for more able pupils.

Extra Curriculum Activities

There is an opportunity for Key Stage 1 children to join a variety of clubs and this invite is extended to Reception children in the Spring Term.

During lunchtime, children are able to participate in games using the fixed outdoor apparatus on the field and the hard play surface or by using equipment stored in our play shed. Games are supported and led by the Midday Assistants, Play Leaders and on certain days a PE coach. There is a designated quiet area for those children wishing to draw or read during the lunchtime period. The field is available when appropriate.
