Badger Class - Reception

This week in Badger Class

We have been settling back into school and reminding ourselves our routines. This week we have been thinking about farms and farm animals. We have been thinking about what animals you might find on the farm and what they look like. We are looking forward to learning more about farms in our Mantle of the Expert learning this half term.

Literacy

This week we have been continuing to learn out phase three digraphs. We have also started whole class writing and handwriting in our books this week. We have written the sentence: 'I can see a brown cow.' On Friday we did our first write to impress session and had a go at writing sentences all by ourselves.

Maths Mastery

This week during our Mathematics meetings we have been focusing on counting forwards and backwards o 20 as well as recognising our teen numbers.

During continuous provision we have been exploring capacity and using the terms: full, half full, nearly full, nearly empty and empty.

Home Learning

The Home Learning for this week is on your Tapestry accounts and attached to the bottom of this page.

Please enjoy reading your Big Cat books with your family over the weekend. Please write about your child's reading in their book so this read will be counted for our reading competition.

Well done to those children who have received another certificate this week.
