At Barnes Farm Infant School, we teach the different elements of English through a creative approach. We use Mantle of the Expert as a springboard into a range of topics and as a school most of our teaching and learning is taught through this topic with a prominent cross-curricular focus. At Barnes Farm Infant School, the children will evolve into the role of an explorer to understand and learn more about Rainforests in Year 2, the children will become park keeper assistants to help Percy and learn about lots of different animals  in Year 1  as well as take on the role as marine biologists to understand life under the sea in Reception. Our philosophy of creative learning underpins everything that we do in Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening and Phonics.
