Home Learning

Our Home Learning this year has slightly changed as we introduce new English/Spelling and Maths activity books into Year 1 and Year 2. Homework in KS1 goes home on a Friday and is expected to be back in school no later than the following Wednesday.  If you have any problems with homework, please do not hesitate to speak to your child's class teacher who will be happy to help with any questions you may have.

Home learning is expected to be completed with an adult unless your child wants to work independently.  Please only complete the given pages in the activity books as they are carefully chosen by the Year group teams to consolidate learning in school and books will be completed throughout the year.

Year 1

Each week, Year 1 children will either be asked to complete a Maths or English activity in their books, have spellings to learn and will be expected to read their reading books every night.

Year 2

In Year 2, children will get both an English/Spelling activity and Maths activity to complete, have spellings to learn and will be expected to read their reading books every night.

EYFS

Our EYFS children will take home a reading book to read at home with an adult every night.  It is vitally important for our very young children to foster a 'love of reading' from the very start of their school lives as this has proven to speed up their ability to read and understand print.  Your child will also take home key High Frequency words and sounds to practise at home.

Our EYFS team are always on hand to answer any questions regarding home learning so please feel free to speak to your child's teacher if you have any concerns.
