I became a co-opted Governor in March 2017.
I have lived in Chelmsford for nearly 20 years and the majority of my career has been in the City. I worked in insurance and risk management for over 25 years and am a qualified risk manager. I have experience in corporate governance, strategy, finance and operational management from working with global companies and I currently work with public sector organisations.
I want to apply my skills to somewhere that matters and that is why I jumped at the chance to become part of Barnes Farm Infants School. I know some of the pupils at the school and am grateful to have the opportunity to be part of the team. I believe we have a moral responsibility to ensure a school gives any child the best possible education and supportive environment to allow them to thrive, develop and enjoy learning. The formative years spent at a first school have a huge influence on children, and the people they will become - not just academically, but socially and emotionally. I want to provide all the support I can to encourage our pupils to develop into the best they can be.
