New to Reception 2020 - Information for Parent/Carers
We would like to wish a warm welcome to all the new families that will be joining us in September 2020. We are very much looking forward to meeting you all.
We will be updating this page regularly with any news and correspondence that you may find useful.
Due to the current Covid19 situation, we are carefully considering arrangements for September and will do our very best to make sure that your child's transition to school is as smooth as possible.
We are planning to hold two Welcome to Reception afternoons on the 19th and 20th May between 1.30pm and 3.00pm. This will be the first opportunity for your child to come into school and have the opportunity to have a play in reception whilst you can relax over a cup of tea/coffee and a piece of cake. The afternoon will give you an opportunity to meet myself, our wellbeing team and other parents. During the afternoon we will ask you to complete our enrolment forms (please bring your NI number) and you will have the opportunity to view the school uniform and find out how to order it. We will keep you updated on whether these sessions will be able to go ahead due to Covid19 and if they can, how to book onto them.
The Infant and Junior School hold an annual Open Evening in where current and new parents have the opportunity to wander around both schools and have an informal chat with teachers and other staff. Again, we will keep you updated on whether this event will take place this year and if it is, we will confirm the date and time.
We hope to be able to invite your children into school on the morning of the 1st July and this will give your child an opportunity to have a play and meet their new teacher. We normally have an informal session at Mace Playce soft play centre and if these events can go ahead, we will share the details with you.
Our Early Years Leader, Mrs Bentham, will be working with local pre-schools and nurseries. This normally extends to an invite for the children to come in for teddy and story sessions if possible.
To help your child’s transition into school in September we will have a staggered timetable for the first week and we will advise you nearer the time if you child will attend in the morning or afternoon.
· Thursday 3rd September - am or pm session (not including lunch)
· Friday 4th September – am or pm session (including lunch)
If you do have any questions in the meantime, please email us at email@example.com or contact us on our Well-being phone line on 07850 903 896.
