New to Reception Meetings - September 2022
We are planning to hold various ‘Welcome to Reception’ events this term. These will offer opportunities for you to come to the school and meet key members of the team, attend workshops/welcome events and also will be the first chance for your child to come into school, play in our reception classrooms and meet the staff. Dates and details of these events will be emailed to you shortly.
As part of our welcome and transition, we would like to invite parents/carers to a ‘New to Reception Parents/Carer Welcome Meeting’.
During this meeting, there will be a short 15-minute presentation about our school, followed by a session for you to complete your enrolment forms and meet our Owlets Wellbeing Team.
You will need your NI number on the day to complete your child’s enrolment form. To book a place to this event, please complete the following Microsoft FORM:

Other opportunities for Transition and to find out about Brilliant BFIS!
The Infant and Junior School hold an annual Open Evening where current and new parents/carers have the opportunity to wander around both schools and have an informal chat with teachers and other staff. Again, we will keep you updated on when this event will take place this year.
Our Early Years Leader, Mrs Bentham and SENCO, Mrs Robinson, will be working with local pre-schools and nurseries. This normally extends to an invitation for the children to come in for teddy and story sessions if possible.
Children with Additional or Special Educational Needs
If your child has any special educational or medical needs, please contact Mrs Robinson as soon as possible so that we can ensure the correct provision and support is in place for September.
