Well done Rabbit Class for a great sports day. You all tried your best to 'be a team' and work together for your house points. We enjoyed listening to a sports day story when we came back to class to cool down, as well as learning a bit about the World Cup to keep with the sporting theme of the day!
We also continued to 'step into the story' this week where we helped collect evidence against Sam Sly. We hope to contact the police next week so they can arrest him and free the animals from his circus!
We are looking forward to the sponsored kick event on Tuesday and celebrating 'British Values Day' on Friday morning with Fox and Badger class.
PE kits can now remain at home.
This week we will be revisiting the sounds o-e (bone) u-e (flute)
We will continue learning to tell the time on an analogue clock, using the words 'o clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to.
Your children are continuing to change their own reading books in class. We will read twice weekly with your child and learn the key words. Once will be individual reading and one session will be in a small group.
Please continue to read at home and learn the word worm words. We will be checking reading records every Friday morning to see who has read 5 times at home. The winning class we be awarded a book for the class library during Friday mornings assembly!
Some parents have been asking how to support their children's learning even further at home. Some useful ideas could be;
- To learn how to spell the word worm words.
- To write a diary or a story.
- To look at the learning taking place this week and think of words with the focus sounds, and practise the maths we are doing.
There are also lots of free resources online that could be searched and linked to this. Thank you for your continued support with your children's learning journey!
