Rabbit Class - Reception
This term in Rabbit Class
This half-term we are learning all about farms and farm animals. Farmer McDonald needs our help to make her farm a success and make sure all the animals are well looked after. We will be working in our expert teams to research and care for the animals on the farm. We will also be looking for ways in which we can help Farmer McDonald make some money to keep the farm open.
We will be revisiting all the sounds we have learnt so far in reception and will be applying our learning to read real and alien words. We will continue to learn our keywords and apply our word and sound knowledge to reading sentences independently. We will also be more independent in our sentence writing and will be writing to impress each week!
We will be learning about the composition of numbers up to 20- looking at addition and subtraction and learning some number facts. We will also be working on using our number knowledge to solve problems and explain our thinking using Mathematical vocabulary.
Remember that home learning books are brought home every Friday. Tasks should be completed and then returned to school on Wednesday.
Please enjoy reading your Big Cat books with your family over the weekend. Please write about your child's reading in their book so this read will be counted for our reading competition.
Well done to those children who have received another certificate this week.
